The Alberta Centre for Active Living collaborates with many other organizations.

Alberta Active Living Partners
The Alberta Active Living Partners is a group of 13 organizations that collaborate through programs, services, research and advocacy to help Albertans be physically active. Members include

Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability
The Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability (ALACD) promotes inclusion and active living lifestyles for Canadians with a disability through communication and collaboration. The Alberta Centre for Active Living collaborates with the ALACD, Alberta Initiative, to house library resources, contribute to its provincial committee, and support projects.

Active Living Coalition for Older Adults
The Active Living Coalition for Older Adults promotes a society where all older Canadians are leading active lifestyles that contribute to their overall well-being. As a member, the Alberta Centre for Active Living collaborates on projects and contributes to leadership.

Alberta Health and Wellness
Alberta Health and Wellness provides leadership and works collaboratively with partners to assure the delivery of quality affordable health services and wellness programs to help Albertans be healthy. The Alberta Centre for Active Living supports the Healthy U web site through a grant from Alberta Health and Wellness.

Alberta Recreation and Parks Association
The Alberta Recreation and Parks Association unites province-wide advocates of recreation and parks into a proactive force for building healthy citizens, their communities, and their environments in Alberta. The Alberta Centre for Active Living collaborates through advisory committees, conference participation, and shared advocacy.

Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation
The Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation provides financial support to eligible sport and recreation organizations to enhance the quality of life in Alberta. The Alberta Centre for Active Living appreciates the core and project funding we receive from the Foundation.

Alberta Tourism, Parks, and Recreation
Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation is the department responsible for physical activity participation in Alberta. The Active Living Program of the Alberta government provides leadership in working with all levels of government, organizations, and communities to promote participation in healthy physical activity that leads to well-being.

Coalition for Active Living
The Coalition for Active Living works to ensure that the environments where Canadians live, learn, work, and play support regular physical activity. The Coalition represents a cross-section of national, provincial and local organizations that are working to reduce physical inactivity in Canada.

Faculty of Physical Education & Recreation, University of Alberta
The Alberta Centre for Active Living is affiliated with the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Alberta as a research and knowledge translation centre. The mission of the Faculty is to develop and provide excellent teaching and coaching, research, and service programs that foster an understanding and appreciation of leisure and physical activity in a healthy lifestyle.

Public Health Agency of Canada
The Public Health Agency of Canada focuses on more effective efforts to

  • prevent chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease;
  • prevent injuries;
  • respond to public-health emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks.
