The Alberta Centre for Active Living has produced many fact sheets on various aspects of physical activity.

Making Active Living Part of Your Day. Use this tip sheet to find ways to incorporate active living into your day.

Pedometer Information Sheet. For helpful information about pedometers (including how they work, how to wear them and how to test them), access the Alberta Centre for Active Living's “Pedometer Information Sheet: Get Physically Active One Step at a Time!” and make 10,000 steps your goal. The sheet is also available in French.

Pedometer Information Sheet for Children and Youth. "Using Pedometers with Children and Youth: An information sheet for teachers and children/youth leaders" offers practical tips on using pedometers when working with children and youth. (pdf, 4 pgs, 434 KB)

Physical Activity Backgrounder for Decision-Makers. An information sheet for decision-makers that details the reasons to promote physical activity policies. The handout also lists Canadian and Albertan rates of physical inactivity and some of the major costs of physical inactivity. (pdf, 2 pgs, 253 KB)

Physical Activity Fact Sheet. A general information about the benefits of physical activity and how much activity is recommended. (pdf, 2 pgs, 119 KB)

Physical Activity Log. Use this log to record the number of minutes you are physically active and/or the number of steps you take each day. To produce copies of the log, simply print it out and photocopy more copies. (pdf, 1 pg, 113 KB)

Supports and Barriers to Older Adult Physical Activity. This section details the main obstacles to physical activity faced by older adults and ways to overcome these barriers.

Tips for Older Adult Physical Activity. This section includes information on the benefits of physical activity; the components of fitness; 10 tips to becoming physically active; and 10 tips to staying physical active.
