Understanding implementation of school active transportation initiatives across Alberta: Perspectives from champions

SHAPE Alberta School Travel Planning Champion Survey

An Invitation

Since 2001, SHAPE Alberta has provided encouragement and support to school communities across the province to encourage their students to walk or bike to school. We have worked both directly and indirectly with many of our partners to develop ideas and plans to support school active transportation. In doing so, schools have chosen to develop and implement event days, walking programs, or a weekly/monthly Walking Day to promote their plans.

Although there are many benefits, both physically and socially, in getting more students using active modes of transportation for their school journey, SHAPE understands that planning and implementing such activities can be rewarding, yet challenging at times. For this reason, we want to hear from you!

We are inviting you to participate in a survey seeking to help us understand the experiences of school active transportation champions across Alberta. We encourage all past and present facilitators to participate to help ensure the broadest range of feedback from our partners.

The online survey will take between 15 to 20 minutes to complete. All participants who complete the survey will have an opportunity to enter a draw for a SHAPE Alberta resource prize pack.

The survey will be available until: May 9th until 11:59 p.m. [MST]

If you know of other facilitators of school active transportation, please forward this invitation to them so they may also provide their perspectives.

Thank you for considering taking part in this survey,
